Sophie Smith Political Consultant

Sophie Smith
Legislative Director

Sophie Smith, the firm's Legislative Director, joined PooleMcKinley in 2007. Prior to joining PooleMcKinley, Sophie worked for a government consulting firm in Miami, Florida, focusing on client matters and procurement at the local level. Sophie has also worked for the Republican Party of Florida as a campaign staffer on numerous successful House and Senate campaigns, and continues to volunteer through grassroots efforts during election years.

Sophie's command of the Florida political process has grown exponentially over the years she has been with PooleMcKinley. Sophie acts as the office's legislative hub, keeping clients and her team well-informed on anything concerning their wide-ranging respective issues, including health care, economic development, education and business regulation. With over a decade of experience in Florida politics, her knowledge of Florida policy and the legislative process has made her an asset to the PooleMcKinley team.

For Sophie, Florida politics is not only business, but also personal, as she is the granddaughter of the late Florida Governor Claude Kirk and the niece of Florida Congressman Ander Crenshaw.

Sophie graduated cum laude from the University of Miami with a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and International Studies, as well as a minor in Spanish.
